Torrie’s Academy of Dance National Competition Team 2025-2026

*Two teams to choose from- 

1. National Competition Team 

2. Rising Star Competition Team 

3. Future Stars Team 

If you would like to join our National Competition Team the requirements are:

  • Ballet, Tap, Jazz recital classes
  • Competition Groups
  • 4 local dance competitions (as far as Columbus) 
  • 1 or 2 - 1 or 2 day dance convention(s) local or as far as Cleveland or Pittsburgh
  • 1 National Dance Competition or other trip 


2025-2026 August Competition Summer Dance Schedule


Classes are MANDATORY for competition dance and they are intense classes!!!!

There are NO auditions, or audition costs but there will be certain moves your child will have to perform to enter certain age groups and dance styles. Ms. Torrie and the teachers will place the dancers in dances we feel they will do best in the competition season.

 ***ALL competition students and parents there will be a MANDATORY meeting to dis­cuss any questions, concerns, contracts and know what’s going on before the season begins on

Monday, August 4th at 7:30 PM please make sure you attend!!

Rising Star Team 

​This is an alternative team that we offer!!!

  • Anyone can participate in this team but this team is mostly for those that are not ready for our National Team and we can work on skills to get them there
  • You MUST only be at recreational level dance (Ms. Torrie and the staff will determine this) This means you can't be an intermediate or advanced dancer. Beginners ONLY!!!
  • ​You MUST attend mandatory August technique classes
  • ​You will ONLY have a solo NO group dances
  • ​You MUST attend all dance conventions with the National Competition Team
  • You MUST be enrolled and take ballet, tap, and jazz recital classes
  • ​You MUST purchase Torrie's Academy of Dance team jogging suit​
  • You can choose how much or little you want to participate with competitions​- MUST attend mandatory competitions 
  • ​You can choose if you would like to attend Nationals or not


 

"Future Stars Team"


  • NEW THIS YEAR!!! Are you ready to take your dancing to the next level for ages 3-8? We’re looking for passionate, driven, and fearless dancers to join our Torrie's Academy of Dance "Future Stars Team" Competition Team.
  • Whether you live for the stage or want to grow faster as a dancer, this is your chance to challenge yourself, bond with an incredible team, and shine in the spotlight.

  • Who can join? Ages 3-8 (Kinders and Minis)
  • What styles will the team compete in? 1 dance in hip hop
  • When are practices and competitions? Practice is 1 day a week on Wednesdays 4:45-5:30. See below for competition dates*
  • What is the requirement?  Take any of our recreational classes plus the competition team class
  • Cost – $60 per month for the 45 minute class. See below for competition fees*
  • What is required- Jogging-suit (used for 2 years and it's a new one for the whole team this year), Black sneakers, Costume and dance shoes. 

Commitment level – Weekly practice and 2 competitions
